I've spent a fair amount of time establishing a pretty well defined style. For the most part I'm happy with it but from time to time, I take a right turn into some slightly new territory. In this instance, I decided to explore a slightly different facet of my, well, faceted style. Three aquatic-themed illustrations were the result.
First is a fun little play on the angler fish, a rather terrifying sight in real life BUT actually, kind of a small nightmarish little dude. In this scenario, I switched things up, making his scale as scary as his ugliness. Poor diver.
The second image is pretty straight forward, an orca underwater surrounded by jelly fish... Or is it? Also kind of looks like an orca floating in the clouds. maybe I'm tired. Probably tired.
Last pic is actually the first that I created in the series. Here there isn't any sort of conceptual angle, just a stylized whale, some bubbles and a really cool looking eyeball (my favourite part).
